I'm going to pull my teeth out.
Here's a bunch of news:
Congratulations to all the 48 Hour Films - especially the three winners of the audience awards - they truly did it up proper and deserved to win. You can view ALL of the 48 Hour Films at www.kdhxtv.org/48hour.htm.
The Whole Sick Crew - a band we featured on The Matt Sinopole Show - is quitting the business and they're throwing a final show on June 25th at the Hi-Pointe and I severely recommend you go.
The 2005 St. Louis Filmmakers Showcase is coming up - the three shorts I edited were all accepted - Mary Wants To Kill, Pour Chaque «Non», and Reject This Film - check out www.cinemastlouis.org/main/showcase/05_showcase/05_showcase.html for showtimes and ticket prices.
And finally, the feature Hooch And Daddy-O will be screening July 30th at 7:00PM at The Pageant - tickets are $10.00 and are all ages, plus Femme Fatality will be there for an after-movie rock session.

With the last update, I told you about the upcoming collaborative between myself and the members of Team Kremulac (now called Team Counterhound) we were doing for the 48 Hour Film Project.
Well, this weekend, our collaborative effort was destroyed when I split from the team. I was on their writing squad and I felt like the styles and sensibilities of the other squad members weren't really getting along with my styles and sensibilities. So I dropped out and chilled for the weekend.
So please, go check out the 48 Hour Films at the The Pageant this Wednesday, but don't expect a contribution from the ol' Rock N Roll Bacteria folks.

You may know this, but the 48 Hour Film Project is this weekend.
I am writing for Team Counterhound and I think we have a pretty good team
that will slaughter the competition.
So.
You may want to come and check us out when our film screens (we're in
Group C).
Doug Whyte of KDHX-TV says:
To avoid long lines the day of the screenings (and perhaps missing some of the films), I recommend buying your tickets in advance either through our website www.kdhx.org/film or at The Pageant box office (6161 Delmar Blvd).
The schedule of screenings is as follows:

The band that scored our film Grumboon - THE BAYSAYBOOS will be performing two more shows before calling it quits.
The first is this Friday, May 13th, at Lemmons on Gravois, for real.
The second and final show is Saturday, May 28th, at Off Broadway with
Bunnygrunt - missing this would be like taking a hot bat to the face = unpleasant and possibly brain-damaging.
AND, by the way, congratulations to Anthony AKA Sa - he tied the knot this past weekend with the love of his life, Sonya Meinzen, to create Sonya Sawall. Congratulations! I'll post some wedding photos soon.

Rock N Roll Bacteria Productions is set to rise like this bear swatting this deer to death.
The updates have been lax because the work has been fierce.
Currently, this is what I'm looking at:
Hooch And Daddy-O
This feature film was in the final stages of post-production when it was brought to me. I am cleaning it up so it can be submitted to the 2005 St. Louis Filmmakers Showcase.
|
Mary Wants To Kill
This is a short directed by Anne Freivogel. It is also in the final stages of post-production - just finishing some visual effects and this bad boy will be ready to unveil.
|
Pour Chaque «Non»
Another short film from RøB SEVERSON, this one is currently in post-production sound. Hopefully, it too will be ready to submit to the 2005 St. Louis Filmmakers Showcase.
|
Reject This Film
Wolfgang Lehmkuhl's new short film. It's still being shot but I'm gonna edit like a madman to get this short submitted to the 2005 St. Louis Filmmakers Showcase.
|
Deadwood Park
The newest feature from Eric Stanze and the rest of the gals/guys at Wicked Pixel Cinema. I am sort of gaffing, sort of gripping, sort of ruling. I haven't read the script, but I have seen the teaser, and trust me, I am sufficiently teased.
|
and finally, I have been asked to work with some of the guys from Team Kremulac (of Dial 'M' for Hobo and The Return of the Rival Guns of Fortune fame) for this year's 48 Hour Film Project.
|
In other news, two institutions have fallen to the flame. The band you love to love, The Baysayboos are calling it quits. It has to do with moving, with marriage, and with extreme amounts of violence. When their final show is announced, I will let you know.
donkeynorris.com is also gone for good. In its place, a new discipline has arisen. Like a lotus blossoming for the equinox, donkeynorris industries brings you NINJAHORSE.COM - don't click here unless you have learned the value of intense training and psycho-analytical body control.
Oh yeah, and my new script is halfway there.

I helped in the post-production of a documentary called Fundamental Fairness and this will be showing on HEC-TV in St. Louis all month long! Check it out!

A quick addition to yesterday's news - another movie with the same name as us has been spotted. Visit http://www.thepizzamovie.com to see a movie about pizza that shows the proper respect.
2/16/05
So, I have been hearing rumors for a couple months that someone was making a feature film with the title Pizza the Movie. I found out the other day, thanks Boon, that this is no longer a rumor, but a reality.
In case you don't know, on our DVD-R compilation, The Egg, there is a bonus video that I made as a sophomore in college (1999) called Pizza the Movie - our tribute to one of the greatest meals of all time, pizza. The video we made dealt with pizza and the way we interact with it on a day to day basis and challenges the audience to pay it a little more respect, because, surely, it has respected us unconditionally ever since it left Italy.
Well, you can imagine my excitement when I heard about this movie; undoubtedly someone picked up on the message that my Pizza the Movie delivered and decided to dedicate an entire feature to pizza, even naming it the same as homage to my short. That's great news!
Then I download the trailer.
What a slap in the face! This movie couldn't be any more about pizza if you named it I've Never Heard of Pizza the Movie. At first, I thought this was a trick by those wily frozen donkeys featured at www.donkeynorris.com but then I realized it was not a trick, merely a display of apathy to the world's most dominant food group, pizza. If there really is a food pyramid, pizza's the pharoah and calzones are the mummies. But I digress.
|
On their site they have a section called Pizza: The Photo Album which includes one solitary shot of actual pizza which is this.
Anyways, I can't bring up arms against them, as I never copyrighted Pizza the Movie (mainly because of all the copyrighted songs I stole to use in the video). But do me a favor. Let it be known how disrespectful this is to anyone with a working mandible and that this so-called Pizza the Movie is certainly the cause of the Pope's recent illnesses. I'm outta here! |

2005 Mardi Gras dominated - living amongst the madness is an experience, we kicked it from 10AM until midnight - I'd post some pictures but I didn't take any.
Tomorrow night, the party continues at Frederick's Music Lounge!!! They are presenting two features - Inbred Redneck Alien Abduction at 7:00pm and The Bunglers at 9:00pm - both locally produced!! Not only that, but Inbred Redneck Alien Abduction was directed by none other than Grumboon's art director, Patrick Voss!! Suzanne Stockhausen also did some work on the film - it should worthy of a look- especially since there is no cover charge and there's free popcorn!!!!!
Other than that, we have nothing else. Nada.
But we're working on it.
1/5/05
Well the year has come and gone.
Not a very productive year for the Rock N Roll Bacteria team - understandable, considering we all moved out of the Rock N Roll Bacteria Manor and are now living separate from each other.
BUT DO NOT CRY!!!
This is far from the end of Rock N Roll Bacteria Productions. You would have to plunge my head into battery acid for that to happen, and, even if you did this, it would take at least 400 liters to do the trick.
The studio (aka my eMac) has been relocated to Soulard where Suzanne and I now live, and we plan to stand strong in 2005 with three (possibly four) good as gold productions in the upcoming 365 days. A short film/video, a cartoon pilot, a trailer, and maybe something so nuts that I can't even talk about it yet. We might throw in a comic book for good measure, things are just that bonkers here!
As far as this website, it was just renewed for the entirety of 2005, so keep visiting us. The only change in the immediate future is that we have removed the upcoming projects page and will post information on all projects we touch right here on our index page! Why the change? Because the way it was set up before was stupid.
Happy New Year! And, if you skipped going to Frederick's Music Lounge's Best of 2004 St. Louis Movie Lounge, you missed a surprise showing of Grumboon, Liontown, and Radiation Always Wins - SUCKA.
12/13/04
Not much to talk about still - I am in the process of moving - AGAIN - and I have been putting a lot of thought into the upcoming script for our next feature.
Christmas is coming up. I am looking forward to someone getting me the Slimecano.
Also, I have seen two articles written about the production, Steel City - directed by Brian Jun and cinematographed by Ryan Samul (who was a frequent collaborator until he sold out and moved to New Suck City). Check them out HERE and HERE!!
HAPPY HOLIDAYS

What a crummy year! Amongst other tragedies worldwide, we got Ol' Dirty Bastard aka Unique Ason aka Big Baby Jesus aka Dirt McGirt aka Russell Jones dying and we got one of the best restaurants on the north side, Jason's closing down. Here's to ODB coming back as a zombie and Jason's returning with a hockey mask and chainsaw and throwing the across-the-street mickey d's into the lake.
